Today I will Share Pat Shak Bharta Recipe | Pat Shak recipe | Bengali style Jute leaves recipe which is delectable and nutritious. It goes well with hot piping rice. It has enormous health benefits and is loaded with vitamins and minerals, e.g. vitamin A and vitamin C, that may help reduce inflammation and improve bone health, and the immune system.
How to eat jute leaves
One can eat jute leaves in several ways. You can take it as fried (pat Shak bhaja), soup (pat shaker jhol), and pat Shak bharta
Equipment used
- Colander
- Frying pan with lid
- Spatula
- Mixing bowl
Ingredients
- Pat shak-100 gm (excluding stem)
- Panch phoron-1/2 t spoon (It comprises mouri (fennel seeds), methi (fenugreek seeds), kaalo jeere (black cumin seeds), zeera(cumin seeds), and a typically Bengali spice, called radhuni)
- Chopped garlic-2 tbsp
- Chopped green chili-1 tbsp
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 green chilies
- Salt
- Mustard oil-1 tbsp
How to make Pat Shak Bharta Recipe
Take a bundle of pat shak
Separate the leaves from the stem, and wash them thoroughly
Now put the washed leaves in the frying pan with one cup of water
Cover the lid and allow it to cook for 8-10 minutes on low flame to boil the leaves properly
Open the cover and see how nicely it has been boiled
Now with the help of a colander strain the water from the leaves
Heat oil in a pan, and add panchphoron for tempering
As they splutter and sizzle, add Chopped garlic and green chili and sauté them for a minute
Then add the chopped onion and sauté them for a minute and add salt
Now add the boiled leaves and mix them well
Once cooked properly, and then transfer them to a missing bowl
Sprinkle a few drops of mustard oil and mix well and serve hot with hot steamed rice.
