Macher dimer borar tok(fish roe fritters curry)
Macher dimer borar tok(fish roe fritters curry) is a very uncommon recipe but it is a very tasty recipe of fish eggs. Normally in the month of May-June, you will get these eggs, usually, we are using rohu and katla fish for the eggs recipe. You can very well have this egg fry (macher dimer bora), without tok(sour curry)
Ingredients
- Fish eggs- (1 cup)
- Tamarind- 2 inch
- Onions- 1 chopped(keep half for tok and half for bora)
- Coriander leaves-few chopped
- Green chilies- 2 chopped
- besan-1 tbsp(gram flour)
- Salt to taste
- Ginger chopped (optional)-1 tbsp
- Oil two tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- turmeric Powder one teaspoon
- Panchphoron 1 teaspoon panchphoron (It comprises mouri (fennel seeds), methi (fenugreek seeds), kaalo jeera (black cumin seeds), zeera(cumin seeds), and a typically Bengali spice, called radhuni)
- Red chili-one
Method of preparing Macher dimer borar tok(fish roe fritters curry)
Take a mixing bowl and add besan(gram flour), onion (chopped), green chili, salt, and fish eggs, but don’t mix much.
Take a deep pan and add oil, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the pan and make the dimer bora and keep aside.
in the same remaining oil put red chili, and panchphoron then add onion and cook for 2 minutes.
Add tamarind water (make by adding tamarind pulp in a cup of water and keeping it for 10 minutes), turmeric powder, and salt, and cook for 2 minutes.
Now slowly add the fried eggs (dimer bora)
After 2 minutes turn off the burner.
Now you can serve it with rice but it will be tastier if you take it after 10 to 12 hours
Tips: If the eggs are very thick, then you do need not to mix them, you can cut them into pieces and just dip them into the batter and fry it, it will be tastier.
