How to make delicious mackerel tawa fry
Mackerel is a very tasty and healthy fish having a big throne in the center. It is like sardine and salmon having plenty of omega- 3 fats can help prevent breast, prostate, renal, and colon cancers. It is rich in coenzyme Q10, antioxidants, which are helping to prevent cancer.
Tawa is griddle like cast iron made flat roundel shape frying pan, advantage is that by using less oil we can fry which will be healthy as good as tasty. More I have chosen a big size Mackerel so without tawa it would be a little difficult to fry.

Ingredients to make delicious mackerel tawa fry
Indian Mackerel fish-1(big size)
Onion- 2
Ginger-1 inch
Garlic-10 cloves
Coconut( cut into small pieces)-1/4th of a small
Red chili-4
red chili powder- 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder-1 teaspoon
Coriander -1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder-1 teaspoon
lemon juice 1 teaspoon
salt to taste
3 teaspoon Cooking oil
How to make delicious mackerel tawa fry
Preparation of mackerel fish
- First, cut all the fins and tails then cut head along with the eyes.
- Remove all the inner organs from the belly and wash the belly.
- Slit the fish or make 3 to 4 deep long incision to reach up to the throne on both sides of the fish.
How to make marinating the mackerel
- Now take a fry pan, heat oil and add red chilies and coriander fry for 1 minute, then add onion, garlic, coconut and ginger, sauté it for 3-4 minutes.
- Allow it to cool in room temperature then transfer it to a jar of a blender and make a smooth paste.
- Now apply and coat this mainly to the slit portion to the fish on both sides.
- Cover and keep it aside for 2 hours.
How to fry the Mackerel
- Heat oil in a tawa or a griddle in high flame for 1-2 minutes to season it otherwise fish may stick on it.
- Now lower the flame and place the fish over the Tawa.
- Fry it for 3-4 minutes and flip to other side of the fish and fry it for 2-3 minutes.
- The fish slowly becomes brown on both sides.
- Remove it from the tawa and transfer it to serving plate.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
