Steamed Lentil Cake Curry is a very nutritious and palatable recipe, and very easy to prepare. The steam cake of kalai/biuli/black gram dal is cut into small pieces; fried and then simmered in a thick gravy made with cashews, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and ginger and sometimes added with potatoes finished in a warm, spicy, cumin, coriander flavored sauce.

The ingredients required for this recipe are
Kalai/biuli/black gram dal; use dal without skin( white lentil)
Cashews; Use fresh good quality cashew
Tomato; use red tomatoes
Red chili; I have taken fresh red chili for better color
Potato; I used Chandramukhi potato for a better result
Oil; any type of cooking oil can be used
Other ingredients are turmeric powder, cumin-coriander powder, garam masala, ginger, onion, garlic paste, and salt
How to make Steamed Lentil Cake Curry
Wash the dal/lentil and let it soak for 2 hours; then put them in a blender jar along with ginger and fresh red chili
Make a fine paste, put it in a bowl, and steam it with the help of a momo steamer
Take it out from the steamer and put it on a plate upside down
Now with the help of a knife cut it into small pieces
Heat oil in a pan, fry them well, take them out from the pan, and keep them aside
Take a blender jar and add tomato, cashew, and fresh red chili, and make a fine paste and keep them aside
Heat oil in the pan and add the potatoes, and fry them well
Now add the chopped onion, and fry them until they become translucent
Add garlic paste and sauté them for a minute
Now add turmeric powder, cumin-coriander powder, garam masala, and salt and stir them until the raw smell goes off
Add the cashew paste and mix them well
Cover the lid, and allow them to cook for 5 minutes on low flame
Open the lid and add the fried lentil cake and mix them well
Add chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti, paratha, or rice
