Macher Dimer Borar Kalia Recipe/Fish Egg Kofta Curry/ Bengali Spicy Fish Egg Curry
In my earlier post, we have seen how to Make Macher Dimer Bora/ Fish roe fritters. Now we will prepare Macher Dimer Borar Kalia Recipe/Fish Egg Kofta Curry/ Bengali Spicy Fish Egg Curry, which is succulent and easy to prepare with fewer spices. Here fish egg means only Rohu and Katla/Catla fish eggs, which are tasty and readily available in the local market.
Equipment used
- Blender
- Frying pan
- Spatula
Ingredients
- Macher dimer bora/Fish roe fritters-7-8
- Potatoes-2(cut in two halves and fried, after rubbing with salt and turmeric powder)
- Onion-1
- Capsicum-1/2
- Ginger-1/2 inch
- Garlic-10-12 cloves
- Bay leaf-1
- Whole spices (green cardamom-2, cloves-5, cinnamon stick-1/2 inch, and peppercorns-5)
- Oil-1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
- Cumin powder-1/2 tbsp
- Red chili powder-1/2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
How to make Macher Dimer Borar Kalia Recipe/Fish Egg Kofta Curry/ Bengali Spicy Fish Egg Curry
Take a blender jar, and put onion, ginger, garlic and capsicum
Make a fine paste and keep aside
Heat oil in a pan and add a bay leaf
Add Whole spices (green cardamom-2, cloves-5, cinnamon stick-1/2 inch, and peppercorns-5)
As they splutter and sizzle add the onion paste and sauté them
Add the fried potatoes and sauté them
Now add the cumin powder, turmeric and red chili powder and salt and keep stirring for 2 minutes or till the raw smell of the spices goes off.
Now the spices are cooked completely and become dry, so add 2 cups of water and cover the lid for 5 minutes to allow the potatoes to boil.
Open the cover and add the Macher dimer bora/Fish roe fritters and mix them well and allow them to cook for 2 minutes without cover.
Now transfer them to a serving plate and serve hot with hot piping rice.
