The ingredients required for this recipe are

  • Kamranga/star fruit/kamrakh-6
  • Oil-1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tbsp
  • Raisins-1/4th cup
  • Whole red chili-2
  • Curry leaves-8-10
  • Sugar-5 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Salt-pinch of salt

How to make kamrangar Chutney / Star fruit Sweet Pickle

Clean and wash the fruits

Cut them into thin slices, so that they looked like stars

Heat oil in a pan, and add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, and whole red chili for tempering

As they splutter and sizzle add 2 cups of water

Now add salt, sugar, and turmeric powder and mix them well

Add the slices of star fruit and mix them

Now add the raisins/kishmish and allow them  to cook on high flame for 3-4 minutes or until the pickle becomes thick

When it becomes thick, turn off the flame

Transfer them to a serving plate and serve hot or preserve it for 2-3 days in refrigeration and serve later on
