How to make yummy balushahi/Indian popular dessert
Balushahi is a very popular and simple recipe throughout India. It manages to make a valuable position in marriage ceremony, Diwali, Holy and many other festivals in India. Only three ingredients are sufficient to make a delicious balushahi, these are maida (all purpose flour), ghee and sugar syrup. Other things you can use are curds, dry fruits, baking soda.

Ingredients of yummy balushahi
- 2 cups All-purpose flour (maida)
- baking soda-4 teaspoon
- Ghee-2 tablespoons
- Ghee or oil for deep frying
How to make yummy balushahi
To make syrup; Take a pan, add one cup sugar and one cup of water and bring it to a boil.
Then, add cardamom powder, 1/4th of lemon juice and simmer for 8-10 or till it becomes thick.
Then, switch off the flame, cover it and keep it aside.
To knead the dough
In a bowl, add flour, baking soda and ghee
Then, start mixing the mixture with the help of palms and fingers.
Add water, knead such that it just come together to form a course dough.
The dough should be medium soft
Cover the dough with a clean cloth and keep it aside for 30minutes.
Divide the dough into equal small lemon sized ball, balls should be course to dissolve properly in the sugar syrup.
Make a half hole in the centre with your thumb
Repeat the same for all the balls.
To fry balushahis
In a kadai or hard bottom pan heat ghee or oil.
Drop the balushahi balls slowly one by one.
Fry in low flame, until golden brown from all the sides.
Once they are changed their colour to golden brown, take them out and drop them in the sugar syrup for about 2 minutes.
Now take them out from the syrup and transfer them in the plate for few minutes.
Garnish balushahi with dry fruits and serve.
