How to Make Simple Jeera Rice/ Simple Cumin Rice
Wash thoroughly the rice 2-3 times.
Soak the rice for 20-30 minutes. Then boil (approx-1 liter) water in a large vessel, add the soaked rice when the water starts boiling and add salt and 1 tbsp oil also.
It takes around 7-8 minutes, so check the rice whether it is boiled or not
If it is cooked properly, then drain off the water from the rice.
Add cold water to cool the rice, otherwise, it will be over-boiled
Now take a Kadai, and add ghee; allow it to melt
Add cumin seeds and bay leaf for tempering
As they splutter and sizzle add the boiled rice.
Add chopped coriander leaves
Now slowly mix the rice with the ghee and cumin. (need not add salt as while boiling the rice we already added it)
Turn off the heat and serve hot with dal fry or any gravy-based curry.
