How to make rohu fish masala
Marinated with curds and other spices, rohu fish chunks are fried and then simmered in a thick gravy made with tomatoes, onions, garlic and ginger and sometimes added with potatoes finished in a warm, spicy, cumin, coriander flavored sauce and this is How to make rohu fish masala.

Ingredients
For marinating rohu fish
- 500 grams fish chunks ,
- 1/2 cup curd
- Cumin, coriander and turmeric powder1 teaspoon each
- 1 tspoon garlic and ginger paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
- Salt
For gravy
- Onion (chopped)- 01
- Tomato (chopped)-01
- Cumin ,and coriander, red chili and turmeric powder 1 tspoon each
- 1 Cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon and cardamom Powder
- mustard oil-1/2 cup (for fish fry)
- Salt to taste
How to make rohu fish masala
- First thoroughly clean and wash the fish chunks.
- To marinate the fish chunks, in a bowl add yogurt, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, ginger, garlic, chili powder and salt and fish minimum for one hour.
- Now take a hard bottomed pan, add ½ cup mustard oil and fry the fish chunks and keep aside.
- Now for gravy heat 2 teaspoon oil, add cloves followed by onion and cook until it becomes translucent.
- Add tomatoes and cook them for two minutes.
- Then add cumin, turmeric, coriander, red chili, Cinnamon and cardamom and powder and mix them well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Now let the gravy becomes little thick then add the fried fishes and salt.
- Simmer the fish curry for about 5 minutes.
- Switch off heat and garnish the fish curry with mint leaves.
- Serve hot with steam rice.
Tips: Here I have taken rohu fish as it is easily available in Bengal but you can take other fishes which having less thrones like basa,salmon,tuna etc.
