Ingredients
- Chicken-650 gm
- Curd/yogurt-300 gm
- Butter-2tbsp
- Onion-2 (Cut in slice)
- Ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
- Whole spices(green cardamom-2, cloves-5, cinnamon stick-1/2 inch, bay leaf-1, and peppercorns- 10)
- Red chili powder-1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
- Cumin-coriander powder-1/2 tbsp
- Kashmiri red chili powder-1 tbsp
- Peppercorn powder-1/2 tbsp
- lemon juice-1/2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Chopped Coriander leaves for garnishing
How to Make Dahi Chicken
Wash and clean the chicken chunks, and keep in a mixing bowl
Add curd, turmeric, cumin-coriander powder, lemon juice, red chili powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, and salt
Mix them well and keep it 1 hour for marinating
Heat 2 tbsp butter in a pan or Kadai
Add the whole spices and stir them for a minute
Add the sliced onions and sauté them till they become translucent.
Now add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté them till the raw smell goes off.
Place slowly the marinated chicken with marinatetion
Mix them with the onions
Now cover the lid and allow them to cook for 10-12 minutes in low-medium with their own water.
Open the cover and check the chicken chunks are boiled nicely.
Add some chopped coriander leaves
Transfer them to a serving bowl and serve with pulao, roti, or paratha.
