How to Make Aloo Puri / Aloo ki poori Recipe
This is a very simple recipe, nothing but a variation of the traditional deep-fried Indian bread or puri with mashed and boiled potatoes and other spices which can go well with Bengali ghugni/chole and pickle. Step by step I am going to share How to Make Aloo Puri/Aloo ki poori Recipe.
Equipment needs
- Mixing bowl
- Kadai
- Skimmer/ spatula
- Plate
- Rolling pin with a board
Ingredients
- Wheat flour-1.5 cup
- Potato/Aloo (boiled)-2
- Turmeric powder-1/4 tbsp
- Cumin powder-1/2 tbsp
- Red chili powder-1/2 tbsp
- Garam masala powder-1/4 tbsp
- Kasuri methi (crushed)-1tbsp
- Black cumin seeds-1/4 tbsp
- Salt
- Water
- Oil for frying the puri
How to Make Aloo Puri / Aloo ki poori Recipe
Take a mixing bowl and add the whole wheat flour
Add black cumin seeds
Then add turmeric powder, salt, cumin powder, garam masala, Kasuri methi, and red chili powder
Now add the mashed and boiled potatoes
Now slowly add water in 2-3 stages and knead the dough, it should be tight
Add 1 tbsp oil and make it smooth and allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes, by covering the wet kitchen towel
After 15 minutes take the dough, divide 10 equal parts and make lemon size balls.
Now with the help of a rolling pin, make the balls into a flat 3-inch diameter size flat circle.
Heat sufficient oil in a Kadai
Slowly place one of the puris and fry it, once fried on one side, then turn it to the other side and fry it.
Same way to fry all the puris one by one. Transfer them to a serving plate and serve with Aloo Paneer and raita.
