Ghatkol Pata Diye Shutki Chingri / Dry prawn recipe with wild arum
Today I will share how to make Ghatkol Pata Diye Shutki Chingri / Dry prawn recipe with wild arum which is an unpopular recipe, but has a great taste. You can also make ghatkul/kharkol pata diye chingri; with fresh prawns, but the taste is better with dry prawns.
In this recipe soaked dry prawns are fried with onions and then cooked with kharkol / ghatkol leaves paste, along with other spices.
The types of equipment required for this recipe are
- Frying pan with a spatula
- Mixing bowl
- Blender
The ingredients required are
- Dry prawns/ shutki chingri-1 cup
- Ghatkol / Kharkol leaves-100 gm
- Onion ( chopped)-1
- Ginger-1/2 inch
- garlic paste-1/2 tbsp
- Cumin powder-1/2 tbsp
- coriander powder-1/2 tbsp
- Green chilies-3
- Lemon -1
- Mustard oil-1 tbsp
- Chopped coriander leaves-2 tbsp
- Salt
How to make Ghatkol Pata Diye Shutki Chingri / Dry prawn recipe with wild arum
Wash the dry prawns and allow them to soak in hot water for 15 minutes
After 15 minutes strain them, and keep them aside
Take a blender jar, and add ghatkol leaves, green chilies, and ginger
Add little water, make a paste, and keep it aside
Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions and fry them for a minute
Add the soaked dry prawns and fry them for two minutes
Add garlic paste and stir them
Now add cumin and coriander powder and stir them until the raw smell goes off
Add the ghatkol leaves paste and stir them continuously until the liquid evaporates completely( it would take 2-3 minutes in high flame)
Turn off the flame, and spread chopped coriander leaves; transfer them to a serving plate and serve hot with hot piping rice
