The ingredients required are

  • Dry prawns/ shutki chingri-1 cup
  • Whole red chilies-6
  • Potatoes( cut into medium dice shape)
  • Onion ( cut into slices)-2
  • Ginger-garlic paste-1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Mustard oil-3 tbsp
  • Salt

How to make Chingri Shutki Kalia  Recipe / Dry Prawns Curry Recipe

Wash the dry prawns and allow them to soak in hot water for 15 minutes

After 15 minutes strain them, and keep them aside

Take the whole red chili and allow them to soak in water for 10 minutes

After 10 minutes, put them in a blender jar make a coarse paste, and keep them aside

Heat oil in a pan add the dice-shaped potatoes and fry them well

Once done take them out from the oil and keep them aside

Add the sliced onion in the same oil and fry them for 2 minutes

Now add the soaked dry prawns and fry them along with the onions

Add ginger-garlic paste followed by red chili paste and stir them for 2 minutes on high flame

Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, and garam masala and stir them till the raw smell goes off

Add salt, water, and fried potatoes and cook them for 3-4 minutes on high flame

  • 1 tbsp  ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tbsp  turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Garam masala
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • salt

  • After 10 minutes, put them in a blender jar and make acoarse paste and keep them aside
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the dice shaped potatoes and frythem well
  • Once done take them out from the oil and keep them aside
  • Add sliced onion in the same oil and fry them for 2 minutes
  • Now add the soaked dry prawns and fry them along with theonions
  • Add ginger-garlic paste followed by red chili paste and stirthem for 2 minutes on high flame
  • Add turmeric powder, cumin powder and garam masala and stirthem till the raw smell goes off
  • Add salt, awate and fried potatoes and cook them for 3-4minutes on high flame
  • Turn off the heat, and serve hot with rice
