Chingri Diye Kochur Loti / Taro Stolon with Prawns
Today I will share Chingri Diye Kochur Loti / Taro Stolon with Prawnswhich is one of the most famous Bengali delicacies. It’s very simple and takes very little time to cook; here I added some new flavors to it by adding mustard- coconut paste.
Equipment required
- Pressure cooker
- Blender
- Frying pan
- Strainer
- Spatula
Ingredients
- Kochur Loti / Taro Stolon- (350 gm)
- Fried Prawns -(1/2 cup small size)
- Chopped Onion (1 medium size)
- Ginger-garlic paste-1 tbsp
- Ginger-1/2 inch
- Mustard Oil (1 tbsp)
- Mustard seeds-1 tbsp
- Coconut slices-4-5
- Gota Jeera /cumin seeds- ½ tbsp
- Green Chili -4
- Red Chili Powder -1/2 Tbsp
- Turmeric Powder- 1 tsp
- Salt (to taste)
Preparation of Chingri Diye Kochur Loti / Taro Stolon with Prawns
Clean and Wash the Kochur loti and put them in a pressure cooker
Add water and close the lid, and go for two whistles
Open the lid after releasing the pressure and keep them aside
Now take a blender jar and the mustard seeds
Add ginger and coconut
Add green chili
Make a fine paste and keep them aside
Take a frying pan and add oil to heat
Throw some cumin seeds to temper
When they splutter then add the chopped onion and sauté them till they become soft and translucent
Add ginger-garlic paste and stir them for a minute
Now add turmeric and red chili powder
Add salt to taste and stir them for a minute
Now add the mustard paste
Add the washed water also and mix them nicely
Now add the boiled Kochur loti
Mash them nicely
Add the fried prawns and mix them well
Now transfer them to a serving bowl and serve with hot piping rice and dal.
